Lancefield Garden 05

Today I saw the first daffodil
And, sitting in a shaft of light
A darkling blackbird flung his soul
Upon the dawn
And I knew then
That come what may
Its gonna be alright

And, OK, maybe I'm alone
But this is how I've made my home
And its enough that I've come through
In spite of you
And I have so much life to live
And I have so much love to give

So I scatter to the wind
The gritty dust of broken dreams
Lift the veil of romance
On this not-so-rosy world
I lift my face to taste the rain
Gratefully embrace the pain
That says I'm still alive
