Apple

In the beginning there was a tree All hung with apples, sweet as can be What harm an apple, one apple from the tree A little knowledge will surely set us free We crossed the oceans, we learnt to fly Unpicked the helix, forgetting why We split the atom, our flag unfurled A little knowledge will surely light the World We left the garden to claim the Earth Weighed up creation to calculate its worth Struck out for heaven, built towers to the clouds A little knowledge has surely made us proud What harm an apple, one apple from the tree?
